Poseidon was the Greek god of the sea and one of the major gods. His mother allegedly hid him among sheep and claimed to have given birth to a colt which was devoured by Cronos. From that start he became one of the major three (Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon) with domain on the water required for life. He was one of the patron gods of Athens but lost out to Athena after a contest.
What we must remember about the sea is we know less about its depths than we do about outer space. Without the sea there would be no life and making a mistake in the sea can cost you your life. Many warriors who pride themselves on their aquatic insertion methods carry tokens of Tridents with them for protection. Anyone who has explored those depths can tell you that there is majesty and danger in them. This patch celebrates our desire to explore the depths along with our appreciation for its gifts.
This patch is woven 3" tall and 2" wide with velcro back.
